Crackle Available in the Google Play Store. But You Knew That Already

February 8, 2013

image

Since being introduced on the Xbox 360 in their app market,¬† I have definitely grown fond of Crackle. Just in case you didn’t know, Crackle is an application that allows you to view some of your favorite TV shows, movies, and more from your TV or handset for FREE! (Definitely like the sound of that right?) Crackle even has some of its own self made TV shows available for viewing. Crackle was first introduced to me on the Xbox 360 when their video app store was on the up and up. At first I was a little leery of it after my disappointing encounter with their Manga video application. After surfing around a bit I found Crackle and haven’t stopped using it since.

Now it’s available for download from the Google Play Store and much like it’s Xbox Live counterpart it doesn’t disappoint… Ok maybe a little as Crackle may throw in a commercial or two depending on whatever show your watching (like a repeat attack of Gwen Stefani using her Windows phone on a tour bus, Ewww).and for you Anime heads that might be looking to check out some different Anime that might not have made it to Netflix, Crackle might be the Avenue you’ve been waiting for to open up. Right now I’ve gotten sucked into Wolverine and a show called Air Master and both are awesome. Crackle is available for free in the GPS (Google Play Store) and you don’t have to sign up for anything. The link’s below of you want to try it out.

Nothing like free apps, am I right?

2012 in review

January 2, 2013

Thank you for a wonderful Year and we look towards the future together.

Here’s an excerpt:

it takes 19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 63,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Motorola Takes Shots At Samsung With New Ad For The Droid Razr HD

Shots Fired!! Motorola vs. Samsung?

Shots Fired!! Motorola vs. Samsung?

Manufactures of smartphones dissing each other over their products is becoming a regular practice. Samsung and Apple have been going at it for a while now and Apple has been attacking nearly everything Android upon its release. But now it seems that there could be some beefing beginning to stir up inside the Android camp itself. And of course, the first one to start brewing the Android beef is Motorola.

In their latest ad for the Motorola Droid Razr HD, Motorola brags about how much faster their smartphone is as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy S3. In the picture above, Motorola shows off its downloading speed in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S3 when downloading Angry Birds Rio to both phones while under Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The picture shows the game being completed on the Droid Razr HD while the Samsung Galaxy S3 is only at 60% or so. Motorola continues to diss Samsung’s baby on its official site by continuing to line up comparisons against the Galaxy S3.¬† Read more…

Facebook 2.0 for Android gets a new speed boost in latest update

One of biggest gripes that Android users have been having with Facebook’s official Android app is that is was slow. We’re talking an ant moving through molasses kind of slow…well maybe not that slow but it wasn’t fast until now. Facebook pushed an update through today that brings a crisper adjustment to the UI and greatly boosts the speed in its performance. Facebook for Android 2.0 now has a “New Stories” bar that shows up whenever you get a new status update on your timeline. Here’s the full changelog for Facebook for Android 2.0 below: Read more…

Get Your KungFu On With KungFu Warrior Game From The Google Play Store

December 6, 2012

Once upon a time, there was a young warrior who trained diligently in the woods learning at his masters feet. They would train for days with the eager young warrior absorbing the techniques and teachings from his old and wise master. One day though, while training with his master, they were attacked by bandits who killed his master in cold blood. The young warrior vowed vengeance on those that took his master’s life and with the techniques and skills passed down from his master he sets off to avenge his master’s death and destroy the bandits that took his master’s life….or at least that’s what the story looks like it says through the beginning scenes.

KungFu Warrior is a game that pits you against a gang of bandits bent on destroying the young kungfu warrior and stopping his quest. It’s a neat little side scrolling game with graphics on par with games like Angry Birds or Plants vs. Zombies. Read more…

Swiftkey Flow Keyboard Beta Released And Ready For Download

December 6, 2012

For those that don’t know, Swiftkey has been working on adding their own version of a “swipe-like” feature to their own keyboard. Dubbing it Swiftkey Flow, they are now sending out emails to those that initially signed up to try the newly released beta version of the keyboard. Swiftkey keyboard was already one of my favorite keyboards in the Google Play Store to use and now that it’s adding a swiping feature this will only make Swiftkey better. If you tried to download the beta version of Swiftkey earlier today after you received your respective emails but couldn’t get it, don’t worry. Swiftkey reported via their Twitter account that due to the popularity of the app and the news of the beta being released for download, their servers couldn’t handle the mass numbers of downloads. Fortunately everything is back to normal now so you should be able to go and download it now (I just downloaded it and gave it a little test drive before this post).

Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note II Selling For $199.99 On Amazon Under New 2 Year Contracts

The New Beast on the block. The Galaxy Note II

The New Beast on the block. The Galaxy Note II

When you’re looking for a good device to grab at a discounted price then Amazon seems to be the place to go. Amazon is offering the newly released Samsung Galaxy Note II from Verizon for $199.99 for new customers getting a two-year contract. If you haven’t seen the Note II (you must be living under a rock somewhere), the Samsung Galaxy Note II boasts a nifty 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display which brings vibrant and¬†illuminating pictures to the device. You get a nice boost in speed from Verizon’s LTE network and the Exynos 1.6 quad core processor under the hood doesn’t look too bad either. And let’s not forget about the sleek S-pen hidden in the back of the phone for easy writing, typing, and pin point accuracy on that huge screen.

After using my Mr. Harrison’s Note II under Sprint I have to say that it is a pretty nice grab. The sheer size of the phone makes you feel like your holding a powerful tool. It’s almost like holding a smaller tablet (which is why its predecessor, the Note I was dubbed a phablet). The colors come out really well and the processor makes sure that the screen movements run smoothly. Personally, I’ve been thinking of making a grab for the device myself and I already have the Galaxy Nexus in my grasp. That might just be a nice little grab for me before the holidays really get going.
